Paul Chaves for Kingston City Council

Loyalist-Cataraqui District

The most important thing for me is to serve you. I will listen carefully. I will hold quarterly Townhalls. I will gather your concerns, opinions and solutions neighbourhood by neighbourhood; home by home. I will represent the diversity of views in Loyalist-Cataraqui. Let’s lead our beautiful city together with vision and purpose.

I grew up in Kingston and graduated from Economics at Queen’s University. I’ll soon retire from a 31 year career managing people and projects with the Correctional Service of Canada, where I was union president. I understand large organizations and the needs of people who face challenges. I will work hard to balance the many demands facing our City and use my experience developing win-win solutions.

I’ve raised my two children in Kingston. Everyone has been run down by the pandemic. It’s time for a new optimism and energy to make our city a vibrant, welcoming and sustainable home for all who live here and future generations.

Community Service

I organized the collection of tabs for Brett Babcock and his “Tabs for Chairs” campaign to raise money for wheel chairs and mobility for families at Sick Kids Hospital.

I don’t mind getting my hands dirty for our environment. I’ve coordinated and participated in many “Pitch In Kingston” events to help clean up our city’s green spaces.

I’ve been a strong supporter of St. Vincent de Paul, Kingston. I’ve set up many donation drives over the decades in support of their services and meal programs.

I am an active member of our community. I’ll be here to listen to your concerns and drive forward solutions on City Council.
